We have a new vacancy for a Transport Manager for my client’s site in Coryton. Excellent opportunity for a Transport Manager to join a high-performing team. This role suits a Transport Manager looking for a long-term role.
Transport Manager Role:
•Manage checks and controls to uphold fleet safety and reliability, wrking closely with vehicle maintenance service providers to minimize downtime.
•Understand and implement relevant legislation and standards.
•Maintain strict security of property and products, including serving as an emergency call-out key holder and attending call-outs when required.
•Utilise knowledge of relevant legislation, safety, quality procedures, and site operating instructions.
•Deliver regular company briefings on Safety and Performance to all employees.
•Ensure sites under your control are maintained in line with company policies and external regulatory authorities.
•Work with senior management to prepare budgets and manage expenditure.
•Prioritise the customer in decision-making processes and ensure employees are trained to deliver excellent customer service in all areas of the cylinder and bulk business.
•Lead the dispatching and scheduling functions for the area, ensuring all planned delivery schedules consider driver and vehicle compliance with relevant transport regulations.
•Coach, mentor, and plan appropriate training and development for all staff and drivers.
•Conduct performance reviews in line with company procedures to create a robust and efficient operation that meets financial targets and KPIs.
Transport Manager Requirements:
•Proven skills in people management and leadership
•Sound working knowledge of current transport regulations and directives.
•Ideally, a minimum of 3 years' experience at management or supervisory level in a service-oriented environment, with financial experience preferred.
•Knowledge of current employment legislation.
•ADR certificate or experience with hazardous goods is preferred.
•Formal safety qualification preferred (e.g., IOSHH, NEBOSH).
•Possession of a Transport Management CPC.
