The Role
The CCTV & Access Control Engineer is a key role within the Service Department, being
part of the team that designs, installs, supports and maintains our security and
communication technology solutions to our client base. We are seeking a skilled and
motivated CCTV & Access Control Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on
experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining electronic and IP-based security
systems.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a growing technical expertise and a strong desire to
continuously learn and develop their skills across the range of solutions we offer. These
include leading video surveillance platforms such as Avigilon, Axis, and Milestone, as well as
access control systems like Paxton, Alta Access (Openpath) and Suprema.
This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable security installations
within commercial, enterprise and event space environments. It will also need to work with
our Sales Team, and other engineers, to assist our clients' progress to a fully integrated
security and communication ecosystems, leveraging global best practice technologies
across radio, body-worn, digital video surveillance, PA/VA and crowd intelligence solutions.
Responsibilities
• Working with clients, strategic partners, suppliers and team members to install,
Service, Repair, Fault-finding & Maintain IP CCTV, Access Control & Intruder Alarm
Systems
• Ensure compliance with risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) provided
by the project manager
• Ability and desire to work with multiple suppliers to deliver best practice solutions to
our clients
• Ability to provide fault diagnostics, rectification testing, and to rectify any faults found
• Completing work on time, to standard at HQ, and on site across the UK
• Excellent time management skills and interpersonal skills to work seamlessly with
clients and team members
• Desire to learning and undergo continual professional development
Skills
• Expertise in security system installation and maintenance
• Strong working knowledge of, but not limited to: Video surveillance platforms
(Avigilon, Axis, Milestone); Access control systems (Paxton, Alta Access (Openpath),
Suprema)
• Understanding of IP networking, switches, and PoE infrastructure
• Desirable qualifications include: IPAF, CSCS/ ECS, FIA and/or City & Guilds
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Experience with cloud-based security platforms is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset
• Manual handling will be required for moving equipment
• Ability to work with other engineers, to deliver integrated solutions across our
portfolio of suppliers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
Requirements
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in security system installation and maintenance
essential
• Full UK driving licence
• Right to work in the UK
• Out of hours working across events, which is offset by time in lieu and overtime
• Travel throughout the UK as required
• DBS will be ideal; this will be a requirement for the job
