Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced and reliable Lift Supervisors/Slingers for a number of active and upcoming requirements across the Midlands. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and supervising lifting operations, ensuring they are carried out safely, and slinging loads for cranes and other lifting equipment. A valid CPCS/NPORS card is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Lift Supervisor Duties:
Oversee and coordinate all lifting operations on site.
Ensure lifting plans and risk assessments are followed correctly.
Liaise with crane operators, slingers, and site management.
Monitor lifting equipment and ensure proper use.
Identify and prevent potential hazards during lifting operations.
Maintain compliance with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) and site safety procedures.
Slinger/Signaller Duties:
Safely attach and detach lifting accessories to loads.
Direct crane movements using standard hand signals or radio communication.
Ensure the load is balanced, secure, and lifted correctly.
Inspect slings, chains, and lifting gear for defects before use.
Assist with general site duties when required.
Requirements:
Valid CPCS or NPORS card with Lift Supervisor and Slinger/Signaller endorsements.
Proven experience in both supervisory and slinging roles.
Good knowledge of lifting plans, risk assessments, and lifting regulations (LOLER & PUWER).
Ability to read site drawings and understand lift plans.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
SSSTS or SMSTS (Site Supervisor/Manager Safety Training Scheme) preferred but not essential.
First Aid Certification desirable.
Additional plant or lifting operation tickets (e.g. crane operator, telehandler) beneficial.
