Heriot Brown is working with a global real estate investment and asset management group on a brand-new opportunity for a Construction Lawyer to join their in-house legal team in London.
This is a great move for someone who wants to step away from private practice and work closer to the assets partnering directly with the teams delivering institutional-scale logistics and commercial real estate projects across Europe.
The role
You’ll sit within the Construction/Real Estate legal function, supporting development, asset management and logistics teams on the full lifecycle of construction matters. That includes:
* Drafting and negotiating building contracts, professional appointments, warranties and construction-related agreements
* Advising on development, refurbishment and asset improvement projects
* Helping the business manage construction risk across a large European portfolio
* Working closely with external counsel and secondees where needed
* Being a trusted adviser to project managers, asset managers and senior commercial stakeholders
About you
You’ll likely have:
* 2–5 PQE as a Construction Lawyer (non-contentious focus)
* Strong experience with institutional real estate construction work
* The ability to draft and negotiate JCT contracts, professional appointments, warranties and ancillary documents
* A commercial mindset and confidence working directly with business teams
* An interest in moving in-house and having a broader, more strategic role
