The successful Year 1 Teacher will engage in planning before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026 as the Year 1 Teacher. Year 1 Teacher Manchester Year 1 Teacher January 2026 start Year 1 Teacher Full-Time position The role — Year 1 Teacher The Year 1 Teacher will lead systematic phonics, guided reading and carefully sequenced writing units as the Year 1 Teacher. The Year 1 Teacher will design early mathematics sequences, deliver focused intervention sessions and create a language-rich classroom environment. The Year 1 Teacher will be integral to transition planning, parent communication and KS1 moderation activities scheduled before and after January 2026. From the initial planning before January 2026 through to full teaching after January 2026, the Year 1 Teacher will be supported by phase leaders and a team of skilled TAs. Day-to-day expectations for the Year 1 Teacher Mornings: as the Year 1 Teacher you will run high-impact phonics and guided reading sessions. Afternoons: as the Year 1 Teacher you will lead practical maths and creative topic work. The Year 1 Teacher will track progress, run targeted booster groups and present outcomes at termly review meetings from January 2026.
