We’re looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Play Co-ordinator, to help us deliver and maintain high-quality play areas across Worcester. As Play Co-ordinator, you’ll provide specialist technical knowledge and expertise to support the delivery of a high-quality customer service in and around the council’s play equipment.You’ll ensure all play areas are safe, well maintained, and compliant with relevant standards, helping the council meet its statutory duties under health and safety and play area regulations. Key responsibilities include: Carrying out and recording regular inspections of play equipment, safety surfacing and associated infrastructure. Identifying and prioritising repairs, maintenance, and replacements to ensure safety and usability. Liaising with contractors, suppliers and internal teams to schedule works and manage performance. Providing technical advice on new play installations, refurbishments, and risk assessments. Supporting the development and delivery of play improvement projects. Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice and industry standards You’ll have experience in the inspection, maintenance or management of play areas, parks, or similar public spaces. You’ll be methodical, safety-focused, and assured using your technical expertise to ensure compliance and quality. We’re looking for someone with: Sound knowledge of play equipment standards and inspection procedures. Experience of risk assessment and health and safety management. Strong organisational and communication skills. • A relevant qualification in play area inspection or maintenance or willingness to obtain it.
