This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Job Description: DIO Major Programmes & Projects (MPP) UKStratCom is offering a unique opportunity to work in a high tempo environment. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible to the Assistant Head Major Programmes and Projects (MPP) Overseas for Infrastructure Capital Works activities carried out in UK and Overseas locations. This is a full time role. It is based in UK, and regular travel and overnight stays will be required within UK and Overseas to perform the duties expected. Major Programmes and Projects (MPP) is currently undergoing a transformation process to enhance it's P3M capability across the business. It is new and challenging concept with many opportunities for personal development and training in all areas of P3M. Location UK based, choice of locations, with agreement of Line Manager, regular Overseas travel. Hybrid working (a blend of working in the workplace and from home) is encouraged. You should expect to work 60% of working hours minimum at your home duty station or on site, in agreement with your Line Manager. In this role you will be accountable and responsible for delivering sophisticated built, capital infrastructure projects, with utmost focus on performance, cost and time and proactively managing our supply chain to perform, ensuring delivery of both life cycle replacement or improvement outcomes. The position will operate within the Major Programmes and Projects (MPP) United Kingdom Strategic Command (UKSC) facing team. Whilst this position currently requires Security Clearance, there may be a requirement to obtain Developed Vetting at some point in the future, depending on the sensitivity of evolving projects. Essential: A project Management qualification such as APMP/APM(PMQ)/Prince2 or equivalent. In your day-to-day role you will find yourself undertaking the following: • Build and lead the team to deliver the agreed project outcomes. • Supervise delivery of benefits against the business case and ensure appropriate approvals and assurance plans are in place. • Identify and set appropriate project controls, tracking and reporting delivery against milestones and budgets. • Schedule and run project resources • Manage project partners and connect with them at all levels • Identify and supervise project risks and issues and ensure effective change management processes exist • Provide key reports and support effective governance and decision making and control of projects and their place in a programme and Portfolio Please ensure that at the application and interview stages of the campaign you review the Success Profiles Framework to assist you in the demonstration of your skills and experience. Your suitability for the role will be assessed using the Success Profile elements that have been chosen for this campaign. Each element will be scored accordingly, and the successful candidate will be appointed on merit. Applications will be sifted on all Success Profile elements, but in the event of a high number of applications, an initial sift will be conducted on the Lead Behaviour and Personal Statement. In this instance the remaining elements will be tested at interview.
