Band 4 Speech & Language Therapy Assistant Practitioner – Salisbury
We are seeking an enthusiastic, well‑organised individual to support adults with communication and swallowing needs across Bath, Swindon, and Wiltshire. The role is part of the AHP team within Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.
Responsibilities
* Work alongside HCPC‑registered Speech and Language Therapists to support adults with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, autism, dementia, and acquired neurological conditions.
* Deliver high‑quality care in a variety of settings including in‑patient wards (including PICU and acute adults), specialist older people’s wards, and the community.
* Support individuals with communication and eating and drinking difficulties under supervision, utilizing a range of strategies/interventions.
* Assist in the preparation and running of therapy groups.
* Carry out assessment activities within agreed scope of practice.
* Maintain a Continuing Professional Development portfolio and work towards greater competency using the Assistant competency framework with your supervisor.
Qualifications
* Enthusiastic, motivated, organised and adaptable.
* Experience working with adults in mental health, learning disabilities, autism, dementia, or neurological conditions.
* Committed to delivering person‑centred care.
