The Opportunity 🌍
Plan International is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic individual to lead humanitarian responses across its Country Offices. This role involves rapid deployment to crisis zones to manage emergency operations and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead emergency response operations during humanitarian crises
2. Oversee delivery of high-quality programs and manage humanitarian funding
3. Provide leadership to teams including technical specialists, finance, HR, logistics, media, and policy staff
4. Shape and implement emergency response strategies
Candidate Profile
5. Significant field experience in multiple humanitarian crises
6. Expertise in disaster risk reduction and child protection in emergencies
7. Proven engagement with humanitarian coordination systems at all levels
8. Skilled in training, facilitation, project management, negotiation, and influencing.
9. Prior experience working in the Middle East.
10. Fluent in English; French, Spanish and Arabic highly desirable
11. Willingness to travel extensively to high-risk areas, often at short notice

Location:The location of this role can be flexible, preferably closer to the point of impact and where Plan International has an office* that can employ on behalf of the Global Hub and you have the pre-existing right to work and live. The post-holder will be expected to travel extensively, sometimes at short notice to join humanitarian responses and where there may be a level of insecurity.

Type of role: Permanent or maximum fixed term contract as per employing office’s standard terms and conditions.
