Teaching Assistant (Full-Time) – Specialist Secondary School (SEND)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated team on a full-time basis. This role offers the exciting potential to progress from a temporary position to a permanent one.

Your Responsibilities:

* Provide tailored support to students with SEND, ensuring individual needs are met both academically and personally.
* Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt resources and deliver engaging learning experiences.
* Offer one-to-one and small-group support, building positive relationships and promoting independence.
* Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to help students reach their goals.
* Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
* Encourage social skills and positive behaviour in and beyond the classroom.
* Liaise with staff, parents, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for every pupil.

* Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, ideally in a secondary school setting.
* A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
* Adaptability and creativity in meeting diverse learning needs.
* Effective behaviour management skills and the ability to create a calm, supportive environment.
* A genuine commitment to promoting independence and confidence in students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
