Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E) - Birmingham
Salary: £70,000-£95,000 + Benefits + Bonus
The Opportunity
A leading building services contractor is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to take commercial responsibility for major mechanical and electrical projects across Birmingham. This role suits someone who combines technical expertise with strong commercial instincts and enjoys working on complex, high-value schemes.
Key Responsibilities
* Cost Management - Lead cost planning, forecasting, and financial control across multiple M&E packages.
* Contract Administration - Manage NEC/JCT contracts, variations, change control, and claims.
* Procurement & Subcontract Management - Oversee procurement, negotiate subcontract packages, and manage supply chain performance.
* Commercial Reporting - Produce accurate CVRs, valuations, and monthly commercial reports.
* Risk & Opportunity Management - Identify commercial risks and opportunities to protect and enhance project margins.
* Stakeholder Collaboration - Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to support successful project delivery.
About You
* Strong experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor, ideally at Senior level.
* Background working for an M&E contractor or building services specialist.
* Excellent understanding of NEC and JCT contract forms.
* Confident communicator with strong negotiation and analytical skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Package
* £70,000-£95,000 base salary

* Clear progression to Managing QS or Commercial Manager
Location
Birmingham (with occasional travel to project sites)
