The Role As a DT Technician, you will provide practical support to teaching staff and students to facilitate high-quality DT lessons. Key responsibilities include: Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for practical lessons across all areas of DT. Assisting teachers during practical sessions, including supporting students with the safe use of machinery and tools. Maintaining, organising, and checking the condition of equipment, workshops, and resources. Supporting health and safety compliance in the workshops, including the safe handling and storage of tools, materials, and chemicals. Assisting with project setups, displays, and departmental events. Monitoring stock levels and placing orders as required to ensure continuity of lessons. Candidate Requirements Previous experience as a DT Technician, workshop assistant, or similar practical role. Knowledge of practical DT techniques, tools, and machinery. Strong understanding of health and safety procedures in a workshop environment. Organised, reliable, and proactive with excellent communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
