Join Sedgwick International UK as a Financial Accountant and play a key role in delivering insightful financial analysis and audit coordination within a fast-paced, growth-driven environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join Sedgwick International UK's dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you'll be at the heart of the company's accounting processes, focusing on operating costs and overheads. You'll work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and Corporate functions, delivering insightful financial analysis that drives decision-making and supports strategic goals.
The role offers a unique chance to gain exposure to the insurance services sector within a fast-paced, private equity-backed business known for its impressive growth trajectory. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you'll take ownership of key cost areas such as Marketing, Recruitment, Legal, and IT, while playing a vital role in month-end reporting, statutory account preparation, and audit coordination. Your analytical mindset and enthusiasm for understanding the business will be essential as you develop meaningful insights and ensure robust financial controls are in place.
As the main point of contact for external auditors, you'll lead audit deliverables and support group reporting requirements. You'll also contribute to fixed asset accounting, corporate budgeting, and pension reporting, with opportunities to get involved in ad hoc projects that broaden your experience and skillset.
This fixed-term position runs until December 2026 and requires a minimum of two days per week in the London office. It's an ideal role for someone looking to deepen their expertise in financial accounting while making a tangible impact in a collaborative and growth-focused environment.
The skills you will have when you apply:
* Professional qualification : Completed a recognised accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
* Technical proficiency : Strong ability in SAP S4 Hana would be desirable.
* Relevant experience : Previous experience in a similar finance role.
* Financial reporting : Experience in preparing financial statements, statutory accounts, and fixed asset accounting, including asset capitalisation, depreciation, and disposals.
* Accounting standards : Understanding of UK GAAP and US GAAP would be advantageous.
* Communication skills : A good communicator who can tailor messaging to different stakeholders.
* Initiative and independence : A self-starter who can work autonomously and seeks continuous improvement.
* Curiosity and enthusiasm : A natural interest in understanding the business and making the role their own.
* Time management : Strong ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
