Description About the Counsellor role Support individuals by using a holistic client-centred approach to navigate mental health challenges, build resilience and create positive change through counselling, group programs, advocacy and support that strengthens families and the local community. Reporting to the Counselling Coordinator, this is a fixed term part-time role (0.8 FTE) until February 2027. Offices located in the Northern Suburbs. Your Passion and Commitment will see you: Provide counselling and casework to individuals of all ages within Scope of Practice, addressing anxiety, depression, family violence, grief, trauma and relationship issues. Develop and deliver group therapy programs with colleagues. Deliver counselling support and consultation using a multidisciplinary approach. Apply a holistic, client-centred biopsychosocial model to promote health and wellbeing. Improve service access and effectiveness through quality initiatives. To succeed in this role you will have: Degree and/or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (Counselling, Family Therapy, Psychology and Social Work). Eligibility for membership in a relevant professional association (required). Relevant qualifications (e.g. Cert IV AOD, Mental Health, Group Therapy) (desirable).
