You will be assisting a Year R pupil with a range of additional needs including being non – verbal. The school is an excellent school catering for all the child’s needs and have even constructed a sensory room to support. If you are empathetic, consistent and have experience working with children who have additional needs, THIS is the role for you:
Duties will mostly include:
1:1 care for a child in Year R with additional needs
Bucket time and sharing and taking turn games to be supported
Assisting with their health and hygiene
Monitoring and ensuring the child eats well
Supporting with emotional and social well being
Helping develop life skills and mentoring them to have a positive outlook
The Successful candidate will:
Have some experience of working with children with Autism and other needs
Be empathetic, consistent and understanding
Promote confidence independence and self-belief
Build up positive relationships with pupils and staff
Understand or be willing to learn how children develop, think and learn
Be resilient and patient
Have experience in a similar role or have a passion to learn the skills above
