SEN Teaching Assistant – Exeter
Location: Exeter
Contract: Full-time, long-term (potential to go permanent)
Pay: £ per hour PAYE / £ per hour Umbrella
Start: ASAP
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools in the Exeter area. This is an excellent opportunity to support children with a range of special educational needs in a warm, inclusive and supportive school environment.
The Role
1. Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH and cognition & learning needs
2. Helping pupils access the curriculum and engage positively in lessons
3. Delivering targeted interventions and supporting differentiated learning activities
4. Creating a calm, structured and nurturing learning space
5. Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, independence and confidence
The Ideal Candidate
6. Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (school, care, support work, youth work, etc.)
7. Patient, resilient, calm and empathetic
8. Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
9. Proactive, adaptable and confident in supporting behaviour
10. Holds an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
