Overview
Reporting to the Head of Complex and Third Party Claims, you'll manage your own portfolio of motor cases, focusing on claims from £500K, including losses for injury, credit hire, vehicle and property damage. This position requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of liability, indemnity, and quantum issues to drive down claims costs while ensuring fair compensation for injured claimants. As a Large Loss Handler you'll also be acting as a technical referral point to provide coaching, mentoring, and training to the claims handling teams.
Responsibilities
* Manage a personal portfolio of complex and high value motor cases.
* Communicate effectively with customers, witnesses, insurers, repairers, solicitors, and medical agencies to expedite claim resolutions.
* Serve as a technical expert within the team, offering guidance and support in large loss scenarios.
* Maintain Reinsurer and carrier relationships through timely and accurate updates.
* Participate in strategic projects to keep the team at the forefront of industry trends and performance.
Qualifications
* Proven experience handling high value motor claims, specifically those in excess of £500k-£1mil.
* Strong knowledge of indemnity and liability, familiar with Civil Procedure Rules, Serious Injury Guide, The Rehabilitation Code, and litigation procedures.
* Strong knowledge of OIC/MOJ.
* Good experience in handling Personal Injury and Credit Hire claims.
* A passion for a career in Large Loss, with a commitment to ongoing technical development.
