AT STRUMIS the IT Manager leads the company’s technology operations and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. This role ensures stable and secure systems while providing hands‐on technical leadership across cloud platforms, networking, cybersecurity, and end‑user service delivery.
As STRUMIS is a software development and product‑focused business, the position requires a highly skilled and practical IT Manager who can operate independently, proactively solve complex challenges, and maintain strong alignment with evolving business priorities.

With ambitious growth plans in both established and emerging industrial markets, adaptability and collaboration are essential. The IT Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting this growth while maintaining operations and continuity across all business‑critical systems.
This role is based at the STRUMIS Head Office on Wyvern Business Park (Stephenson’s Way, Derby, DE21 6LY). STRUMIS operates a hybrid working model, with the IT Manager working on‑site each Wednesday and Thursday and remotely for the remaining three days per week. Occasional out‑of‑hours and weekend work is required to support planned maintenance and ensure business continuity.
The role also includes remote support for STRUMIS IT operations across the UK, United States, and United Arab Emirates, ensuring consistent technology standards and service levels globally.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & IT Operations
* Lead the IT function including first/second/third‑line capability and mentoring of IT staff.
* Managing a highly focused team of one Junior IT Administrator with the possibility of expansion.
* Maintain and execute the IT roadmap aligned to business strategy.
* Manage IT budgets, procurement, licensing and renewals.
* Own IT policy, asset management and adherence to compliance frameworks.
* Provide regular reporting to the COO and senior leadership.
* Administer Azure cloud services including compute, identity and networking:
* Monitoring, alerting, cost governance
* Hybrid and on‑prem infrastructure support including servers, switching (Ubiquity), firewalls, and Wi‑Fi.
* Administration of Microsoft 365 / Entra ID including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune and Conditional Access.
* Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows Server management, including patching and virtualisation (VMware/Hyper‑V).
DevOps, CI/CD & Application Support
* Oversee Git / Azure DevOps pipelines, source control, release automation.
* Manage deployments and support for internal products and mobile apps.
* Support business‑critical applications including STRUMIS, OX and related services.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
* Responsibility for vulnerability management, endpoint protection and security governance.
* Firewall administration, MFA policies, access privileges and standards compliance.
* Ownership of Backup, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans (Acronis preferred – including regular test restores).
* Understanding of GDPR best practice and attainment of Cyber Essentials Plus is advantageous.
Service Desk & Digital Workplace
* Manage service delivery performance, SLA compliance, escalation workflows.
* Build on documentation, internal guides and training to improve digital proficiency.
* Oversee user lifecycle management, hardware refresh, software deployment.
Data & Business Systems
* HubSpot CRM administration – permissions, customisation and reporting.
* Internal Power BI reporting – dataset management and security.
* Website technical maintenance and vendor coordination.
* Proactively identify risks, performance issues, cost optimisations.
* Drive automation and standardisation across infrastructure and processes.
* Collaborate cross‑departmentally to support internal product development.
Experience & Skills Required
* 3–5 Years in a senior IT Management role or Technical IT Team Leadership role.
* Proven end‑to‑end IT ownership in a mixed cloud/hybrid environment.
* Strong technical troubleshooting across networking, OS, and application layers.
* Excellent communication skills – able to translate technical decisions into business value.
* Capable of independently delivering complex initiatives without close supervision.
* SQL / MySQL administration & scripting.
* Software deployment and integration experience, both internal and customer‑facing.
* Industry certifications (Azure/Networking/ITIL/Prince2).
* Experience working within a SaaS or product development business.
* (STRUMIS application experience highly advantageous).
* ClickUp Implementation and integrations with CRM systems.
Typical Day‑to‑Day Activities
* Daily service reviews and escalated incident handling.
* Monitoring and responding to system alerts/security events.
* Backup and DR readiness checks.
* Coordinating change control and maintenance windows.
* Managing vendors and renewal timelines.
* Supporting strategic cross‑functional projects.
* Mentoring junior team members.
* Assisting STRUMIS Development & STRUMIS Product Support with technical queries related to the installation and configuration of customer environments.
