Your new company
You will be working for a British manufacturer that designs and makes luxury furniture, lighting, fabrics, wallpapers, and more. Due to a slight restructure, they are looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Accountant on a part-time (25 hours per week), permanent basis.
Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for bookkeeping and month-end duties using QuickBooks, acting as the main contact for North America, and assisting the UK finance team with additional reporting.
Key duties include:
1. Purchase ledger management
2. Calculating accruals and prepayments
3. Maintaining the fixed asset register
4. Balance sheet and bank reconciliations
5. Recognising employee expenses and credit card spending in line with company policies
6. Weekly cash flow forecasting
7. Creating payments to suppliers via the US banking platform
8. Serving as the main contact for finance queries from the North America team
9. Assisting with global sales reporting and other ad hoc duties
Requirements
Ideally, candidates will have 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, with proficiency in QuickBooks and month-end procedures. Self-discipline, good time management, and workload management are essential. Experience in commercial/sales reporting is a bonus but not mandatory.
Working hours and benefits
The role is ideally performed over 5 days, 5 hours per day, with some flexibility for the right candidate. The salary is approximately £35,000 per annum (FTE), plus a comprehensive benefits package. There is potential for increased hours in the future.
