Job title: System Processes, Methods & Tools Support Engineer Location: Crawley OUR OPPORTUNITY: Thales is transforming the way in which we deliver our tools to engineers. In this role you will be helping to build the next generation of Engineering Environments in the UK using modern deployment methods on a cloud-based platform. This means we need a smart team delivering and supporting and updating every aspect of the delivery and adoption cycle for those tools. We are looking to grow our team to help refresh our tools and move to a hybrid cloud environment, which is a big refresh programme happening worldwide in Thales and is a great opportunity to change engineers' experiences of tools. This role sits within the UK Central Engineering Environments Team in Thales UK. The team's primary objectives are to deliver & ensure the availability, effectiveness and supportability of the shared Engineering Environment - the tools, applications and collaborative capabilities, used by all UK engineers. This includes the continuous improvement and evolution of the environment, with an aim to increase the efficiency of engineers across the UK. The primary purpose of the role is in defining and sustaining the System Engineering tools and their environments architecture for bids, project & product engineering activities. You will define, deploy and organise support for state-of-the-art technologies, System Engineering applications and their environments that support over 1000 Thales UK's System Engineers. We are looking for experienced System Engineering Managers or Systems Engineers to manage the deployment and migration activities from DOORS and Vivaldi to Polarion. The nature of the work demands strong commitment to delivery, continuous improvement and a willingness to take ownership for providing an effective service to Thales businesses around the UK.
