Overview
Applications are invited for a suitably qualified HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Blood Sciences department at North Bristol NHS Trust. The department comprises Immunology, Haematology & Transfusion and Clinical Biochemistry, providing services to acute and primary care within the Bristol area and regional services.
We are looking to recruit a motivated and dynamic individual with excellent leadership skills who, with the Blood Sciences Service Manager and Clinical Heads of Service, will be responsible for delivering an efficient, expert and cost-effective Blood Sciences service for North Bristol NHS Trust and other service users.
Responsibilities
* Work with the Blood Sciences Manager and Clinical Heads of Service to provide an efficient, expert and cost-effective Blood Sciences service for North Bristol NHS Trust and other service users.
* Take responsibility for continuing quality improvement and overall performance of the service, ensuring training, health and safety and quality management requirements are appropriate and implemented.
* Provide overall oversight of all quality management elements, including final oversight of method documentation within areas of responsibility.
* Collaborate with clinical leads of the specialisms to review strategic requirements of the service and ensure service delivery remains at the forefront of quality, service delivery and patient pathways.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
* HCPC registration
* Postgraduate qualification in pathology discipline
* Management qualification or attendance at relevant management modules
Work experience
* Minimum of 6 years post-graduate and 2 years management experience
* Experience of staff management
* Experience of change management
* Experience of working in an NHS pathology service
Desirable
* Experience of delivering service change
Knowledge/Skills
Essential
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Understanding of UKAS and MHRA requirements
