Geotechnical Engineer

Hybrid working - Kingston upon Thames The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting a Geotechnical Engineer to join a world-leading Oil and gas company, based out of South West London. Job Overview: As an Offshore Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, conducting, and analysing geotechnical investigations to support the design and installation of offshore structures. These include wind turbine foundations, oil and gas platforms, subsea pipelines, and other seabed installations. Your role will involve interpreting geotechnical data, performing detailed analyses, and providing recommendations for foundation design and installation, all while ensuring adherence to industry standards and specific project requirements. Develop geotechnical investigation scopes of work (SOW) for offshore projects.
Select appropriate sampling and in-situ testing methods (CPT, boreholes, vane shear, etc.).
Interpret soil laboratory test results (triaxial, consolidation, cyclic testing).
Prepare Geotechnical Interpretive Reports (GIRs) and Foundation Design Reports (FDRs).
Participate in risk assessments (HAZID/HAZOP) related to geotechnical uncertainties.
Review third-party reports and contractor deliverables for technical accuracy
Experience with at least one finite element analysis (PLAXIS, ABAQUS) or pile design software (GRLWEAP, SPLICE, APILE, LPILE, SETTLE3D) would be a plus
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering.
Good knowledge of offshore drilling, CPT interpretation, soil-structure interaction and geotechnical data interpretation.
Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and offshore environments
