Job Description
This role is located in NRM, within the Cawood Scientific Agriculture Division. NRM, part of the Cawood Scientific Group, is the UK’s largest independent provider of agronomic and environmental waste analysis for land-based industries. We offer water, soil, manures, fertilisers, and plant tissue analysis to farmers, growers, and agronomists for improved farm productivity, as well as land-based environmental services including composted waste, anaerobic digestate, effluents, and industrial renewables. Responsibilities
* Prepare and grind fresh environmental waste soil samples. Experience with Retsch grinders and shatterbox preferred; full training will be provided.
* Weigh and organize samples into pre-prepared IBA batches, and distribute sample extracts along with lab and job sheets.
* Sort and grind fresh IBA/ APCR samples.
* Calculate and record the Dry Matter Percentage of environmental soils, IBA, and APCR samples.
* Prepare digestate samples.
* Calculate and record the Dry Matter Percentage of digestate samples.
* Rotate and dispose of soil, slurry extracts, and samples appropriately.
* Unload and transport heavy batches of soil and IBA samples within the Environmental Department.
* When workload requires, assist in other preparation roles within the Environmental Prep Team.
* Follow Standard Operating Procedures diligently.
* Maintain a professional image by keeping equipment, vehicles, and PPE clean.
* Respect company equipment and vehicles, using them as per guidelines and reporting any damage promptly.
* Work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and maintaining morale.
* Prioritize safety by proactively reporting accidents and near misses to management, in accordance with company policies.
* Assist with on-site training of new employees, ensuring a friendly, engaging, and inspiring onboarding experience.
