An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner to join the Surgical Physiotherapy team within University Hospital Wishaw. The surgical team provides a service to Critical Care, surgical wards and amputee rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
* Work under the supervision of registered therapy staff to assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
* Undertake baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified service.
* Implement, adapt and progress treatment programmes within agreed protocols and defined parameters.
* Use specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, patient centred programmes across a variety of clinical settings.
* Discharge or transition care within agreed protocols and defined parameters.
An inclusive team approach, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage your time effectively is essential. Appropriate support will be provided to develop staff joining the therapy team. NHS Lanarkshire.
What we will need you to bring (Qualifications & Skills)
* Formal qualification at HNC Level or equivalent level of experience in a health / education / social care environment plus short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area.
* Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
* Knowledge of the clinical speciality/area process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.
* Ability to apply a range of technical and practical skills.
* Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Time management, planning and organisational skills.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.
* Ability to work individually or as part of a team
* Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.
* Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence if relevant to the post

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

This role will be based in Physiotherapy within University Hospital Wishaw.
