This is a unique opportunity to lead system-wide transformation across Mid Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust and our partners. We are seeking a visionary, delivery-focused leader who can work across organisational boundaries to design and deliver meaningful, lasting change for patients and communities. This is a one-year secondment opportunity.
Main duties of the job
About the role As Director of Transformation & Strategy Delivery, you will lead our transformation agenda, working across the Trust and wider system. You will build strong partnerships, co‑design innovative models of care, and ensure delivery of a major multi‑year transformation programme.
Job responsibilities
* Lead delivery of the Trusts transformation and strategy programme
* Work in partnership with NHS, local authority and voluntary sector organisations
* Drive innovation and new models of care across organisational boundaries
* Ensure strong programme governance, delivery and measurable outcomes
* Inspire and engage clinical and operational teams to deliver change

Qualifications
* Educated to master's degree level or equivalent senior level NHS experience
* Evidence of continuing professional development in leadership, transformation or improvement
* Clinical or professional healthcare qualification
Skills & Knowledge
* Visionary and innovative thinker: able to see beyond existing paradigms and create a compelling case for transformational change
* System leadership: highly skilled at working across organisations, building alliances, influencing and taking stakeholders with them on the transformation journey
* Programme oversight: exceptional knowledge of transformation, portfolio, and programme management with the ability to ensure grip, control and measurable delivery
* Stakeholder engagement: skilled communicator and collaborator, able to navigate complex political and organisational landscape
* Clarity of purpose: highly focused on outcomes and impact for the organisation, patients, and system partners
* Balanced approach: demonstrates both the capability to innovate and the discipline to ensure delivery, but with a primary motivation towards transformation, not just transaction
* Understanding of digital health technologies and their role in enabling transformation
* Knowledge of NHP Target Operating Model, Hospital 2.0 standards, and models of care
* Understanding of NHS workforce planning approaches and their interface with transformation
Experience
* Considerable experience at director level within a complex NHS organisation or system
* Proven record of leading organisation‑wide and/or system‑level innovation and transformation in partnership with diverse stakeholders
* Demonstrable success delivering large‑scale efficiency programmes or significant cost improvements
* Evidence of designing and embedding new models of services or organisational ways of working across systems
