SEN Learning Support Assistant (Secondary) — Bournemouth
Position: Full-time, permanent

The Role — What You Will Do
* Provide targeted support to students with additional educational needs (SEN) in a secondary school setting
* Assist in differentiation, scaffold learning, and deliver interventions under guidance
* Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCo and the wider SEN team
* Help monitor progress, record observations, and feedback to key staff
* Support behaviour management strategies and create a positive learning environment
* Occasionally lead small group work or interventions (as training allows)
* Be flexible and responsive to the individual needs of students

* Passion for supporting children with additional needs
* A strong desire to make a difference in students’ lives
* Previous experience in education or working with young people is a plus but we value the right “fit” and attitude over experience
* Good communication skills (with pupils, staff, and parents)
* Resilience, empathy, patience, and a collaborative mindset
* Willingness to learn and receive coaching/mentoring
* Ability to handle the physical and emotional demands of supporting students
* DBS clearance and safeguarding awareness (or willingness to obtain)
