Consultant Psychiatrist – Inpatient Mental Health Services £160,000 – £185,000 DOE Multiple Locations: Yorkshire | East Midlands | Greater Manchester | Hayes | Chelmsford | Norwich | East London We’re currently seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a growing group of mental health services across multiple UK regions. This is an opportunity to work within secure and specialist inpatient settings that prioritise holistic, person-centred care rooted in the recovery model. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you'll be a key clinical leader within multidisciplinary teams, delivering high-quality care to adults with complex mental health needs. What You’ll Do: Take clinical responsibility for inpatients, including ward rounds, risk assessments, and strategic reviews. Fulfil the role of Responsible Clinician for detained patients under the Mental Health Act. Provide psychiatric input into the assessment, formulation, and treatment planning within the MDT. Contribute to service strategy, clinical governance, and team development. Supervise junior medical staff and support professional development across the team. Support pre-admission assessments and clinical decision-making around referrals. Participate in an on-call rota and provide cover to nearby sites as needed. What We’re Looking For: GMC registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register for Psychiatry. CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in General Adult Psychiatry or any related psychiatry field. Significant inpatient experience working with adults with severe and enduring mental health conditions. Strong leadership and teamworking skills within a multi-disciplinary setting. Commitment to CPD and maintaining revalidation requirements.
