Job Summary:

Job Description :

Who Are We At Wellington IT?

At Wellington IT we provide the most successful range of Credit Union software in Northern Ireland/Ireland, currently moving billions each year and managing funds for more than 1 in 4 people. Our customers use our software to power every aspect of their financial services business from savings and loans, through to business intelligence, online banking, mobile apps, debit card services and ATMs.

Wellington IT is part of Volaris, an operating group of Constellation Software Inc, a large corporate business based in Canada. Volaris acquires and strengthens Company's within the markets they compete, enabling them to grow – that growth comes through organic measures such as new initiatives and product development, day-to-day business, and through complementary acquisitions.

Our people are at the heart of everything we do, Wellington IT offers fantastic career growth opportunities, learning programs, a space you can thrive and a culture that's all about continuous improvement. This Year we are proud to say we have achieved our Great Place To Work accreditation across both UK & Ireland

Your Mission

As Product Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Wellington IT's product suite — driving innovation across our core banking platform, mobile app, and API ecosystem for the Credit Union sector.
You'll own a portfolio of products or product areas end-to-end: from defining the vision and strategy, through to delivery, release, and continuous improvement.
You'll act as the bridge between business needs, customer insight, and technical capability — ensuring everything we build creates measurable value for our Credit Union clients and their members.
You'll also help embed modern product practices, encourage innovation — including exploring opportunities to apply AI and automation — and support the continued evolution of a product-led culture within Wellington IT.
You'll operate in a lean, T-shaped product environment, working closely with engineering to rapidly explore, prototype, and validate ideas. This includes using AI-assisted tools and AI-first approaches to accelerate discovery, proof-of-concepts, and decision-making before scaling solutions through formal delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Ownership

* Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for your assigned product area(s).
* Work closely with customers, partners, and internal teams to uncover needs and opportunities.
* Translate strategy into clear, prioritised roadmaps and delivery plans.
Use data and insight to validate priorities and measure success against clear product outcomes.

Discovery, Innovation & Delivery

* Lead discovery and validation of new features and propositions through research, experimentation, and rapid prototyping, and AI-assisted proof-of-concepts.
* Proactively identify and test opportunities to use AI, analytics, and automation to improve member experience, internal workflows, or delivery efficiency — favoring early validation over extended specification.
* Partner with the Product team, Engineering, Infrastructure, and Professional Services to ensure timely, high-quality releases.
* Define and monitor success metrics, using feedback and performance data to iterate and improve.

Leadership, Coaching & Stakeholder Engagement

* Act as a trusted partner to internal and external stakeholders — building alignment and understanding of product direction.
* Encourage closer collaboration between Product and Engineering by promoting shared ownership of problem-solving, early solution shaping, and experimentation.
* Represent your product area in forums with customers, leadership teams, and industry partners.
* Support the adoption of agile methodologies and product-led ways of working across the organisation.
* Coach and mentor Product Owners or team members to strengthen product thinking, back log management, and delivery practices.
* Contribute to the overall evolution of Wellington IT's product management capability.

Experience & Skills

Essential

* Demonstrable experience as a Product Manager or Senior Product Owner in a SaaS, fintech, or digital-product environment.
* Proven track record of managing a product or feature set end-to-end through the whole product lifecycle.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance user needs, technical feasibility, and business goals.
* Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
* Experience working with cross-functional teams in an agile delivery environment.
* Deep knowledge of agile methodologies.
* Demonstrates curiosity and practical experience with AI, analytics, and automation tools, and is comfortable using experimentation frameworks and feature flagging to drive innovation and
continuous improvement.

Desirable

* Experience in financial services, fintech, or credit union technology.
* Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and modern software delivery practices.
* Experience using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
