Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Health & Safety professional to play a key role in maintaining and improving health, safety, and compliance standards across the business.
The successful candidate will be IOSH qualified, possess extensive Health & Safety experience, and demonstrate a proactive approach to promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise management and employees on all Health & Safety matters.
* Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and industry best practices.
* Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommendations.
* Develop, review, and update Health & Safety policies, procedures, and documentation.
* Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and employee training where required.
* Monitor and maintain Health & Safety records and compliance documentation.
* Liaise with external agencies, auditors, and regulatory bodies when necessary.
* Support managers in implementing corrective and preventative actions.
* Promote a strong Health & Safety culture across all departments.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
* IOSH qualification (Managing Safely, Technical Membership, or higher).
* Several years’ proven experience in a Health & Safety Advisor or similar role.
* Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
* Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and accident investigations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
* Strong organisational and report-writing skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
* NEBOSH qualification.
* Experience within manufacturing, engineering, construction, logistics, or industrial environments.
* Internal auditing experience.
