Purpose of the role
Resource management is a business-critical function at MHA. It ensures that organisations have the right people, with the right skills, in the right locations, available at the right time. You will play an important role in the coordination and delivery of resource management services, providing operational excellence whilst supporting delivery of our business and talent strategy.
As a Resource Advisor, you will work closely with Partners and Managers within London and the South East regions, to ensure the effective deployment, utilisation and development of resources.
You will be skilled at building relationships and be focused on achieving the best commercial outcomes for both the regions and the firm.
Main Responsibilities
* Liaising with Partners, Directors and Managers to understand their client/project resource requirements.
* Driving utilisation and advising stakeholders on resourcing solutions and best practice for the London and South East regions.
* Identifying resourcing solutions whilst factoring in the client needs and individual skills.
* Managing conflicting demands on resources to ensure the best and most profitable outcomes are achieved for the business and for our clients.
* Maintain and administer the regional work planners.
* Ensure that clients are provided with the best teams of people, combining industry experience with technical knowledge to ensure maximum commercial advantage.
* Strategic talent management of staff; actively considering their career development needs and aligning them to engagement experiences accordingly.
* Liaise, influence and challenge effectively to build relationships at all levels and with multiple stakeholders.
* Identify and negotiate the release of suitable resources to cope with the needs of teams, when new work has been won and/or when project/job timings change.
* Support the National Resource Manager and wider Resource Management Group to align the region’s with the resourcing strategy.
* Review of weekly utilisation reports for the region’s, updating the National Resource Manager with conversations around utilisation benchmarks and non-chargeable hours.
* Reporting and forecasting of workforce utilisation and making strategic resource deployment resolutions to maximise utilisation.
* Provide Management information for the region to support decision making.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience in resource planning and management processes with exposure to tools and systems would be highly advantageous.
* Highly confident, skilled verbal and written communicator with great attention to detail.
* Previous experience within professional services would be highly advantageous.
* Previous experience with an RM System is desirable.
* Ability to interact effectively with empathy, impact and discretion, cultivating trusted advisor working relationships with Business Unit leadership, key stakeholders, practitioners, team members and the wider resource management function.
* Commercial mind set.
* Strong Excel skills.
* Ability to plan and prioritise, multitask, and manage a significant workload under pressure.
* Strong relationship management experience: ability to interact, influence and negotiate with people at all levels.
* Strong organisation and time management skills with excellent administration skills.
* Flexibility and ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
* A proactive attitude towards change and ongoing focus on improvement.
* Ability to influence strategic resourcing and training through presentation of information that is timely and informative.
