I am seeking an experienced Building Surveyor with small project management experience to join a boutique consultancy based in Plymouth. This regional leader offers project management, cost consulting, and building surveying services across the South West, managing a portfolio exceeding £500 million in projects nationwide. These projects include mixed-use developments, assisted living facilities, healthcare, residential, and commercial ventures.
The Opportunity
The successful Building Surveyor will handle projects from award, with regional Directors leading work winning. Key responsibilities include:
1. Procurement, design, and delivery of new build and refurbishment projects across various sectors
2. Supporting junior staff in their professional development
3. Advising clients on project programmes, costs, and procurement strategies for public and private clients
4. Attending client meetings to provide professional advice
5. Managing multi-disciplinary consultant teams
6. Involvement in project delivery from inception to completion
7. Understanding building technology, compliance, Building Regulations, and defect diagnosis
The Ideal Candidate
* Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience
* MRICS qualified or willing to pursue Chartered status
* Strong professional Building Surveying background with some small project management experience
* Proven track record in professional and project-based work
