Now part of the Genuit Groups’ Climate Management Solutions (CMS) business unit, Nu-heat has ambitious growth plans. The Role 12 Month fixed-term Contract The Management Accountant reports to the Finance Manager and has 5 direct reports. This role leads the day-to-day accounting function within the finance department. In addition to the existing reporting, a key element of this role is overseeing the financial integration of two businesses including teams, financial systems, controls and processes, with an emphasis on efficiency of processes, controls, automation and effective use of technology. They will actively promote the Nu-Heat values and our Trademark Behaviours and consistently lead by example in so doing. Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Working style: Hybrid working. Responsibilities Managing and mentoring the finance team (supporting in delivery of objectives and priorities, personal development plans, managing workload, driving forward relevant finance projects and efficiency improvements, oversee transactional processing) Supervising the preparation of monthly trial balance, profit and loss, balance sheet and analysis notes, along with the preparation of weekly cashflow projections. Interpreting and understanding the business performance, and assisting in working collaboratively with other key areas of the business to define, improve and implement processes to achieve improvements. Managing the changes required in financial processes, controls and systems as part of the integration of the two underfloor heating businesses, ensuring accuracy and consistency as we move towards working on a single finance system in one legal entity. Working with our accounting software providers to ensure best use of available systems, including projects to migrate fixed assets, prepayments and other schedules into Netsuite. Assisting as needed with the preparation of the business budgets and forecasts (annual budget, quarterly forecasts) Ownership and improvement of the financial control framework and processes (month end, balance sheet reconciliations and implementing, testing & maintaining compliance with relevant local and group policies) Assisting the Finance Manager with the statutory audit process and tax compliance & control processes (VAT and corporation tax) Other ad-hoc financial reporting as required by the business The Person Skilled management accountant, ideally qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA accountant but candidates able to demonstrate relevant experience will be considered Strong people manager, committed to coaching and supporting the members of the finance team Strong systems and processes knowledge, and comfortable in identifying and implementing change and integration. Consistently delivers, using prioritisation and delegation skills, and demonstrates strong ownership of delivery to deadlines and output quality Highly motivated and energetic with a positive attitude and solutions-based approach to problem solving Strong change management skills (experience of delivering finance change projects and supporting in wider delivery of business change) Confident, organised and diligent with high personal standards of integrity Able to work in a collaborative way with various departments across the business, and establish good working relationships with both financial and non-financial colleagues.
