Overview
Communication Consultant - Employee Change role at Mercer, a Marsh McLennan company. This position is based in London and is a hybrid role, requiring at least three days a week in the office.
What you will do
* Provide strategic and tactical communication advice to help clients enhance the employee experience during times of change, including creating materials that inform and engage the workforce, help retain talent, and prepare employees to welcome change.
* Manage change communication project delivery from project scope agreement through implementation and final evaluation, collaborating with a Senior Consultant or Principal.
* Develop high-quality, engaging HR change communication materials using simple language; tailor materials for various audiences; deliver messages in the right voice and through appropriate channels, on time and within budget.
* Review, edit and proofread content to ensure final quality.
* Coordinate internal reviews (editorial, technical, compliance) to ensure accuracy and effectiveness; follow up with stakeholders to address issues raised during review.
* Assist Senior Consultants in coordinating tactics and project delivery, communicate workload availability, provide timelines and progress updates, and liaise with vendors on production coordination.
* Collaborate with creative, digital and tech colleagues to develop integrated change communication strategies based on insights to meet client needs and support implementation.
* Build and maintain relationships with colleagues to deepen understanding of propositions and subject matter; identify opportunities to win or expand client work.
* Interact with clients regularly via meetings, workshops and working sessions; manage content reviews and provide requested materials promptly.
* Support business development by researching and providing information for proposals/RFPs, drafting and proofreading presentations, and researching industry trends to identify opportunities to expand client business.
What you need to have
* Proven communication-related experience
* Hands-on experience in employee change communications, change management or related field, ideally supporting HR and broader organisational change initiatives
* Strong written skills with the ability to simplify complex information and tailor content for different audiences and channels
* Keen eye for detail with strong editing and proofreading abilities
* Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
* Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong project management skills with experience developing and managing budgets
* Collaborative mindset with ownership and a team-focused working style
What makes you stand out
* Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, or related field
* Change communication or change management qualification or proven experience
* Relevant experience in employee change communication supporting HR transformation, rewards, benefits, or wellbeing initiatives
* Understanding of behavioural science in change
