Join Taunton Road Medical Centre as our IT Systems Lead and help keep a busy, patient-focused GP surgery running smoothly. You will ensure IT systems are reliable, secure, and optimised for the multidisciplinary team, from maintaining infrastructure to delivering essential training and supporting clinical systems. You will lead system upgrades, data reporting, security compliance, and liaise with external agencies, contributing to service improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities
* Provide a local IT support service to all staff, resolving issues with IT systems and equipment
* Maintain and manage the organisation’s IT infrastructure (hardware, office systems, email, telephone, internet, clinical systems) to minimise downtime
* Ensure backup and disaster recovery procedures are in place and effective
* Perform regular system checks to maximise performance
* Provide training to staff to ensure effective use of all systems
* Enforce IT security policies and information governance compliance
* Deliver IT elements of staff induction and create/execute reports and action plans
* Input and extract data to support practice reports and audits; assist with searches, audits and recalls
* Support the multidisciplinary team and the use of clinical systems
* Act as liaison between the organisation and external agencies for fault management
* Ensure website information is correct and aligned with benchmarking tools
* Configure searches, interpret data for audits, and manage mail merges for campaigns (e.g., flu)
* Manage staff smart card access to the clinical system and online patient access software
* Keep the Practice Manager updated on patches and upgrades; configure staff email accounts
* Write IT policies and protocols and provide general administrative support to clinical staff as required
Additional duties
* Contribute to audits as directed by the audit lead
* Liaise with ICB and other external stakeholders on IT matters
* Contribute IT knowledge to the development of strategic objectives
Person Specification
Experience
Essential
* MS Server and Desktop operating systems, Windows, SAN technology, antivirus, network appliances, firewalls, and payroll/software packages
* Experience establishing effective office administrative systems

* Experience working in a healthcare setting
