Bring your creativity and passion for food to our school kitchens! As our School Menu Development Chef, you’ll inspire and develop our catering teams to deliver outstanding meals and service to thousands of young people every day.
You’ll work alongside our management and food development teams to ensure all kitchens operate to high standards, conducting audits, and recommending improvements. Each term, you’ll lead the design and implementation of fresh, seasonal menus that meet School Food Standards and achieve Food for Life accreditation.
You’ll shine a spotlight on our school meal offering by attending school events, hosting tasting sessions, and showcasing our dishes. A key part of this role is supporting and upskilling school cooks, helping them grow their culinary skills and confidence while maintaining compliance and consistency across operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement nutritious, appealing, and compliant school menus.
* Conduct kitchen audits and drive quality improvements.
* Support and mentor school cooks through training and coaching.
* Ensure adherence to allergen management and government food standards.
* Promote school meals through cooking demos and tasting events.
* Scale recipes for large-scale catering (200+ portions).
* Collaborate with management to optimise kitchen operations across sites.
