Assistant General Manager who is passionate about creating a world-class environment for learn-to-swim in bespoke learn-to-swim centres. This is an integral role not only to the day-to-day operations of the centres but also to the broader vision of transforming how learn-to-swim is delivered in the UK. History of Swim!
Olympians Rebecca Adlington, Steve Parry, and Adrian Turner are behind the creation of Swim!, the UK's leading premium learn-to-swim experience. We utilize bespoke facilities to deliver high-quality swimming lessons to children aged 0-11. Our program emphasizes proper technique and core skills before progressing to distances, with fun weekly themes for children. Our members-only access includes modern, warm changing rooms designed for children, a panoramic viewing lounge with refreshments and activities for the whole family, smart lesson management, and our unique Swim! awards to celebrate achievements. The booking process is simple and online, with no need to rebook every few weeks.
Swim! Assistant Manager duties
* Assist the General Manager in achieving service and financial targets as outlined in the annual budget and business plan.
* Oversee the delivery of engaging lessons for children and adults, using Swim! resources and programming strategies to ensure a seamless customer experience.
* Provide exceptional customer care to swimmers and their families, fostering these behaviors within the operational team.
* Monitor program performance and KPIs such as customer retention and Net Promoter Scores; analyze data to inform business decisions and improvements.
* Lead operational teams, including Lifeguards and Swimming Teachers, conducting monthly rotas, observations, and team meetings. Manage individual and team performance according to Swim! standards.
* Manage opening and closing procedures, ensure policies and procedures are followed, and oversee risk assessments to maintain safety and high service standards.
* Maintain facility hygiene and operational standards, aiming for a 5-star monthly audit score and full compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Complete health and safety checks regularly, keeping accurate records and proactively addressing hazards.
* Ensure the pool plant operates efficiently, performing scheduled maintenance and monitoring chemical levels in accordance with guidelines and regulations.
* Collaborate with pool engineers and maintenance contractors to ensure optimal operation of all building systems and support preventative and reactive maintenance.
* Manage maintenance budgets and schedules, seeking efficiencies and cost savings, including managing overtime and staffing budgets.
