Join to apply for the Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Learning Disabilities role at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust

We are recruiting for a new Lead for Psychological Services within our Learning Disability Directorate to lead our teams in ensuring those with the most complex needs receive the care and treatment they require, to live happy and successful lives.

In this role we need skilled and dedicated clinicians who understand that the smallest of changes can make the biggest difference to some of the most marginalised people in our society. It’s important that you feel passionate about ensuring good clinical outcomes and can support our Psychologists to work in a goal focused way.

With previous experience within the Healthcare Service, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that high quality care is delivered, so we’ll not only need you to inspire, but also to be emotionally aware in order to get the best out of the people around you and develop as a service.

This may be through upskilling, problem solving with other Clinical Leads and Managers, providing regular supervision, supporting other members of staff with a focus on development and improvement or through investigating complaints and grievances.

We’re a small directorate, with a highly skilled team who carry out specialist and complex work; we’re supportive, inclusive and there’s always someone around for support. No two days are ever the same, so, if you’re looking for an opportunity to step up into senior leadership and develop your skills, with plenty of variety, then we are the team for you!

The core purpose of this role is to both provide a direct clinical service as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist; and to ensure as a professional lead that a high quality psychological service is provided to people with Learning Disabilities and their families and carers when they access Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust (OHFT) services.

The Key Elements Of This Role Will Be

* To provide a direct specialist clinical service to people with Learning Disabilities as part of the OHFT Learning Disabilities Service.
* To provide clinical leadership, as a Consultant Clinical / Counselling Psychologist, for a stepped care model of psychological therapies delivered to people with Learning Disabilities as part of the OHFT Learning Disabilities Service.
* Lead on and carry out audit, policy and service development and research activities and/or programmes for the Learning Disabilities team as directed by the Clinical and Service Director.
* Provide expert consultation for members of the Learning Disabilities team.

Please refer to the job description attached for a comprehensive list of duties. Please note if you are based outside of the UK you will need to hold HCPC registration in order to be considered for this role.
