Job Description Quality & Compliance Coordinator (Audit Readiness) 4 month FTC Alconbury Monday – Friday, 40hrs Competitive Salary DOE This role plays a key part in strengthening the organisation’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring audit readiness, and embedding compliance across the business. The position will focus on updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reviewing risk assessments, and supporting preparation for internal, customer, and third-party audits Key Responsibilities: Quality Management System (QMS) & Documentation Review, update, and maintain QMS in line with customer and regulatory requirements. Ensure SOPs, risk assessments, and associated documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and standardised. Audit Preparation & Compliance Support readiness for customer and external audits, including GMP and Food Safety & Integrity. Identify compliance gaps, drive corrective actions, and help coordinate audit preparation activities. Non-Conformance & Root Cause Analysis Investigate non-conformances and support corrective and preventative action plans. Apply structured root cause analysis to deliver sustainable solutions. Track progress and ensure actions are completed on time. Collaboration & Communication Work effectively with Technical, Operations, and Standards colleagues. Provide clear updates to the Head of Fortress Standards and share best practices. Support a culture of compliance and continuous improvement. Person Specification: Essential: Proven experience in quality, compliance, or technical roles within food, horticulture, FMCG, or related industries. Strong knowledge of customer Codes of Practice and audit standards. Skilled in risk assessment, SOP review, and audit preparation. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, including root cause analysis. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Dependable, accurate, accountable. Committed to the highest standards of quality and integrity. Works effectively across teams to embed robust compliance. Desirable: Experience preparing for customer audits (e.g., TOPS, OHAS, Food Safety & Integrity). Background in quality management across multi-site operations. Familiarity with lean tools for compliance and process improvement.
