About the role
We’ve got a great opportunity to join the team that looks after the branch systems used across our Business Centres. Our Branch Systems team is responsible for our in-house system (MIDAS), which supports both Booker and Makro sites. You’ll be working closely with our Development and Operations teams to make sure everything runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently.
As an IS Analyst (Branch Systems), you’ll be part of the wider IS team at Booker, helping to identify and report software bugs within the MIDAS applications. A bit of technical know-how and some previous experience in software testing would definitely be an advantage.
In addition to supporting the branch systems team deliver projects, it is expected that the successful candidate will offer 3rd line support to the Technical Support team. This involves being on call to offer out of hours support on a 1 week in 4 basis.
Main Responsibilities
In this position, a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills are required. While competent in creating and executing test cases and ensuring a high quality of testing, you will need to:
8. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
9. Review and analyse system specifications to design, document and execute effective test cases.
10. Execute test cases and analyse results.
11. Evaluate system functionality based of specifications.
12. Report bugs and errors found during the testing process to development teams.
13. Have a sense of urgency enabling you to prioritise and escalate to other colleagues and senior managers should situations occur that require further focus or specialism.
You will need
14. Knowledge of wholesale industry business processes.
15. Experience with test management tools and defect tracking systems.
16. Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver high-quality results.
