As a Security and Compliance Solutions Architect at AWS, you will build technical relationships with customers of all sizes and operate as their trusted advisor, ensuring they get the most out of the cloud at every stage of their journey. You will manage the overall technical security relationship between AWS and our customers, making recommendations on security, compliance, cost, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency to accelerate their challenging projects. Internally, you will be the voice of the customer, sharing their needs and wants to inform the roadmap of AWS security services and features. In this role, your creativity will build effective design patterns addressing customer challenges, with the opportunity to define or invent cloud‑native reference architectures for a variety of use cases. You will participate in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g., white papers, code samples, blog posts) and evangelize and educate about AWS technology through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos, or conferences.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with AWS account, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Amazon Identity and Access Management (IAM), VPCs, Key Management System, CloudHSM, AWS Organizations, Artifact, and Web Application Firewall.
- Serve as a key member of the business development and account management team, ensuring customer success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform.
- Provide thought leadership on Analytics and security solutions, contributing to external publications such as the AWS Blogs, whitepapers and reference architectures, or public presentations at AWS Summits, AWS re:Invent, AWS User Groups or industry events.
- Capture and share best‑practice, participate and contribute as a member of the worldwide AWS technical community of Solution Architects, Professional Services Consultants, Technical Account Managers, and AWS Trainers.
- Act as conduit between AWS Service teams and customers, providing detailed guidance for the broader field organization and customers, and acting as an advocate for the customers toward the central teams.
Key Activities
- Customer Engagements (50‑70% of time): Handle specialist requests via SpecReq tool (48‑hour SLA), conduct 3‑6 month Cloud Acceleration Journeys, and facilitate CISO Circles with 10‑15 executives.
- Create workshops, code samples, blog posts, whitepapers, and solutions based on customer patterns.
- Train and enable other solutions architects, TAMs, and partners through internal programs and conferences.
- Provide customer feedback to service teams to improve platform offerings.
- Lead or support initiatives such as the adoption of AI in a secure manner by our customers or other security hardening initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience in a professional field or military.
- Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
- Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
- Experience communicating across technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of SAP systems (e.g., SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects) and their architecture and infrastructure needs.
- Experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking.
- Experience working with end user or developer communities.
