An established Chemical manufacturing site is looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to support the reliability and safe operation of plant and facilities. Role Overview You will be responsible for maintaining production and site equipment through a mix of preventative and breakdown maintenance. The role requires a hands-on engineer with both mechanical and electrical capability. Key Engineer Duties * Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across plant and utilities * Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults * Carry out electrical tasks including panel work, wiring, and fault tracing * Operate safely in ATEX and hazardous areas, following site procedures * Complete risk assessments, permits, and maintenance records * Coordinate with production teams and external contractors * Support equipment improvement and reliability activities Essential Experience & Skills * Proven experience in a mechanical and electrical maintenance role * Background in ATEX, chemical, or high-risk manufacturing environments * Electrical competence including wiring and troubleshooting * Strong understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements * Confident using general engineering tools and equipment * Basic IT literacy for maintenance systems Desirable Experience * Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or process industries * Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics * Familiarity with AutoCAD Package & Benefits * Salary up to £50,000 * 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays * Pension contribution * Life assurance * Income protection and critical illness cover * Health cash plan * Performance-related bonus
