CYFOR Secure Courier - Leicester Position Overview This role involves the secure and timely collection and delivery of exhibits to and from both private and public sector clients, ensuring safe transport to our laboratories in Manchester and Leicester. The position is on an ad-hoc basis (Zero Hours Contract Basis), with work allocated as and when required, so a high level of responsiveness and flexibility is essential. Couriers are expected to represent the company in a professional manner at all times, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with relevant policies and procedures. Reporting Structure This role will report to Evidence and Logistics Officer. Place of Work Base location: Leicester Laboratory – LE19 1RJ Travel to various client sites and between company laboratories (Manchester & Leicester) will be required. Key Roles & Responsibilities Performing a combination of, but not necessarily all or limited to, the following duties: · Collecting and delivering exhibits and other materials in a timely, secure, and professional manner. · Ensuring that all items are handled in accordance with chain-of-custody and confidentiality requirements. · Completing accurate documentation, including collection and delivery records, time logs, and any required digital data entry. · Safely loading, transporting, and unloading items to prevent damage or loss. · Communicating effectively with clients, colleagues, and management regarding scheduling, delays, or delivery issues. · Maintaining cleanliness and roadworthiness of the assigned company vehicle. · Reporting any accidents, incidents, or vehicle defects immediately in line with company procedures. · Adhering to all road traffic laws and company driving policies. · Assisting with general evidence handling or logistics duties at the laboratory when required. Experience, Knowledge and Requirements · Full, clean UK driving licence · Driving for minimum of 5 years · Aged over 25 years old (for insurance purposes) · Proven driving experience, ideally in a courier or delivery role. · Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records. · Excellent organisational and time-management skills. · Professional communication skills, with the ability to interact courteously with clients and colleagues. · A high level of reliability, punctuality, and flexibility. · Ability to work independently and respond quickly to short-notice assignments. · Basic IT skills for completing delivery logs and records. Additional Information · Company vehicle will be provided for work duties. · Uniform and any necessary equipment will be supplied. · The role may require occasional early morning, evening, or weekend assignments. · All duties must be carried out in compliance with company policies, relevant legislation, and health & safety requirements.
