Transducer Engineer Underwater AcousticsWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Transducer Engineer to join an Electromechanical Design team working at the forefront of underwater acoustics technology.This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to lead continuous, data-driven improvement across transducer systems used in demanding global applications.This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in acoustics or transducer technology, who enjoys combining hands-on engineering with analytical problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.The RoleReporting to the Senior Transducer Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, validating, and continuously improving acoustic performance and quality across new and existing products throughout their lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and maintain acoustic quality standards and acceptance criteriaWork closely with production to ensure efficient, high-quality manufacture of transducersSupport the introduction of new designs into productionProvide technical leadership in evaluating and validating acoustic performanceSpecify acoustic quality requirements during early-stage product designLead root cause investigations and drive corrective actionsDevelop and implement continuous improvement strategiesRepresent acoustic quality in design reviews, product release, and supplier discussionsCollaborate with internal stakeholders and international teamsEssential Skills & ExperienceProven experience in underwater acoustics, transducer performance, or acoustic quality controlStrong understanding of acoustic theory, signal processing, and transducer technologiesExperience with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodsAbility to interpret acoustic test data and performance specificationsPractical mechanical engineering skills, including prototype assembly and testingExcellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skillsWillingness to travel occasionally internationallyDesirableExperience developing lab software or test toolsBackground in offshore energy, oceanography, autonomy (AUV/ROV/ASV), or defence sectorsCoaching or technical leadership experienceQualificationsDegree in Physics, Mathematics, or Engineering (BEng/BSc minimum)Experience in a relevant industryTPBN1_UKTJ
