Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) has developed high-quality, purpose-built apartments for affordable rent for people aged 55+, some with on-site support and care. CBC has also redeveloped premises for Supported Accommodation for customers aged 18 and above.
The roles involve repurposing CBC accommodation and managing Supported Housing schemes under the guidance of Supported Accommodation managers.
Your primary role is to maximize the potential of these schemes to meet housing aspirations of council tenants aged 55+ by promoting awareness, acting as a point of contact, providing affordability advice, enabling visits, and facilitating application processes. You will engage directly with tenants, listen to their concerns, and liaise with operational teams to address issues and inform future housing strategies.
Additionally, you will support customers in Supported Housing to promote independence and community integration, and may cover absences in teams handling risk assessments and support for customers with domestic abuse disclosures or rough-sleeping histories.
This temporary role's tasks may evolve with operational needs, focusing on housing management and resource optimization.
Requirements include housing management experience, relationship management skills, understanding of allocation criteria, affordability assessment skills, communication skills, and safeguarding awareness.
