My Client is recruiting for a Senior Design Manager in the Water Sector.

Water Sector Experience
We are looking to strengthen our Engineering team with a Senior Design Manager based at our Falmer office near Brighton with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Head of Engineering and lead projects through their design phases, ensuring cost-effective, compliant, and buildable solutions that meet stakeholder requirements, program expectations, and adhere to project delivery processes and engineering standards.
Key responsibilities:
1. Commitment to excellence in Health & Safety (H&S) in design, complying with all relevant specifications, codes, regulations, and legislation.
2. Identify and manage H&S hazards, communicating residual risks effectively to stakeholders.
3. Lead the Design team to meet customer requirements and project objectives.
4. Manage expenditure, drive efficiency, and control design costs within allocated resources and deadlines.
5. Organize design elements, document in the Design Management Plan, and prepare monthly status reports.
6. Participate in programme, project, and technical meetings.
7. Ensure technical solutions are cost-effective, high quality, and delivered on time.
8. Provide technical support during construction, assembly, and commissioning stages.
9. Ensure technical work complies with standards, specifications, and quality assurance processes.
10. Contribute to sustainability targets by reducing embodied and operational carbon footprints.
11. Communicate effectively with partners and disciplines, leveraging knowledge and experience.
12. Provide exceptional customer service internally and externally.
13. Represent the company professionally in all client interactions and promote company reputation.
14. Maintain a positive, solution-oriented approach, offering honest feedback.
15. Perform additional duties as required, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
Experience and Qualifications:
1. Extensive experience in multi-disciplinary design management within a design-build environment.
2. Experience in Water/Wastewater Treatment Industry.
3. Degree in an engineering-related discipline.
4. Chartered Engineer status.
5. Delivery-driven with leadership skills to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
6. Knowledge of CDM regulations and construction health & safety.
7. Strong strategic, operational, technical, and management skills.
8. Good knowledge of water treatment processes and engineering aspects.
9. Ability to present technical proposals confidently.
10. Working towards or holding an APM Project Management Qualification.
11. Collaborative and innovative working approach.
12. Knowledge of BIM procedures is advantageous.
