Job Description:
A high-performing, award-winning investment boutique is seeking a Senior Operations Professional / COO to join its leadership team. The firm manages a global long/short equity strategy and has built a reputation for delivering strong, risk-adjusted returns through a disciplined, data-driven investment process. With ambitious growth plans and a proprietary investment system at its core, the firm is entering an exciting new phase—and this role is central to its continued success.
This is a rare opportunity to take on a senior leadership position in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and evolving the firm's operational infrastructure, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and compliant with regulatory standards. You will work closely with the investment and executive teams to drive strategic initiatives, manage third-party relationships, and support the launch of new investment vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Leadership: Manage and enhance day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and resilience.
* Fund Launches: Lead or support the structuring and launch of new funds, coordinating with legal, administrative, and custodial partners.
* Compliance Oversight: Maintain and evolve the firm's compliance framework, ensuring adherence to FCA and international regulatory standards.
* Strategic Projects: Drive key initiatives using modern project management tools and methodologies.
* Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with service providers including fund administrators, custodians, legal counsel, and auditors.
* Process Optimisation: Identify and implement improvements across operational workflows, leveraging automation and technology where appropriate.
* Risk Management: Support the development and monitoring of operational risk controls and business continuity planning.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Experience: Significant operations experience within the investment management industry, ideally in a hedge fund, boutique, or startup environment.
* Fund Launch Expertise: Demonstrated success in launching and scaling investment funds or vehicles.
* Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK and global regulatory frameworks, particularly FCA requirements.
* Tech & Tools: Proficient in project management and collaboration tools.
* Mindset: Entrepreneurial, hands-on, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth setting.
* Education: Bachelor's Degree.
What's on Offer
* A leadership role in a high-performing, award-winning investment firm.
* Flexible working arrangements.
* Performance-based compensation with significant upside potential.
* A collaborative, innovative culture where your impact will be visible and valued.
* The opportunity to shape the operational future of a growing investment boutique.
