Job Description
We are looking for a Social Worker to join our Duty and Assessment service. It is an exciting time to join East Sussex Children's Social Work teams. New initiatives such as Connected Families and UK Leading Transformation are unique to East Sussex County Council, and we boast one of the best Social Worker retention rates in the country.
Responsibilities
* Conduct family assessments, Section 47 enquiries, private fostering assessments, and assessments of homeless young people.
* Work with children and young people aged 0‑19 years.
* Build relationships, communicate effectively, and maintain professional boundaries in complex and emotionally challenging situations.
Qualifications
* Experience working directly with children and families.
* Experience completing assessments that form the basis of effective plans.
* Knowledge of legal and policy frameworks that inform social work practice.
* Creativity, compassion, and authority to engage and overcome resistance.
