Automation Maintenance Engineer
Annual Salary: £48,000

Job Type: Full-time (Fixed Days) - 08:00 - 16:00Join our team as an Automation Maintenance Engineer, responsible for the routine, proactive, and reactive maintenance of machinery within our manufacturing areas. This role offers a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with paid breaks.
Day-to-day of the role:
Machinery Maintenance:
Perform maintenance tasks across various departments including Automation Assembly, Cast Iron Spray-Shop, Fabrication, Regrind, and Injection Moulding.
Conduct regular servicing to maintain machine efficiency and quality.
Manage tool changes in automatic machinery according to the production schedule.
Monitor machinery performance, adjust settings to meet company specifications, and maintain detailed maintenance records.
Maintain a stock of essential spare parts to minimize downtime.
Oversee contractors working on machinery in the Automation or Production departments.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Maintain machinery with a focus on safety.
Conduct regular safety audits and ensure high standards of housekeeping.
Report any health and safety issues to the Team Leader or Manager.
Adhere to safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
Communication:
Report equipment issues and breakdowns to the Automation Engineering Team Leader or Manager.
Keep the Production Planner informed of any disruptions, providing estimates for issue resolution.
Communicate any absence from work at least one hour before the shift starts.
Other Duties:
Provide flexible support to the department, covering for absences and working overtime as needed.
Work independently or as part of a team without constant supervision.Required Skills & Qualifications:
Recognised Engineering apprenticeship or HNC.
Multi-skilled in both mechanical and electrical engineering.
Minimum 3 years experience in a maintenance team.
Knowledge of pneumatic systems and industrial automation.
Desirable: Experience in 6-axis robot programming (ABB, Staubli, KUKA) and PLC programming (Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley).Benefits:
