We’re working with a leading infrastructure contractor seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to take ownership of a flagship substation build project in the heart of the Central Belt. High-profile energy project at pre-construction stage Long-term pipeline of work and project variety across transmission Supportive team, strong resources, and a business with real technical clout Flexible working arrangements and a modern approach to delivery Competitive salary, strong benefits, and career development baked in What you’ll be doing: Leading the pre-construction phase of a major energy infrastructure build (substation) Acting as the key liaison between internal teams, clients, designers, and supply chain Ensuring design, scope and programme align from feasibility through mobilisation Driving excellence in safety (CDM 2015), innovation, and constructability Applying digital delivery tools like BIM, CGI modelling, and 3D visualisation Reporting on progress, risks, and influencing stakeholders confidently Sharing knowledge and supporting best practice across a wider transmission programme What you’ll bring: A strong civil or structural engineering background (ideally in power or infrastructure) Demonstrable experience running pre-construction stages for complex projects Confidence influencing and managing a broad range of internal and external stakeholders A collaborative, proactive and solutions-driven mindset Knowledge of gated lifecycle processes and industry governance Passion for quality planning, smart design, and doing things right before Day 1 on site What’s the culture like?
