Lead by partner Jenny Arrowsmith, the Leeds Employment team offers support to businesses and individuals across a variety of sectors. The work includes redundancies, disciplinary and grievance matters, whistleblowing, discrimination, settlement agreements, TUPE, absence management, trade union matters, pay and contract work. We have a collaborative approach with both clients and internal colleagues.
Role Overview
You’ll work as a paralegal within our LEI team, supporting contentious Employment Tribunal work. Your responsibilities will include providing assistance on both claimant and respondent cases, often funded by Legal Expenses Insurance (LEI). You will have direct client contact on most matters and will work under the supervision of solicitors in the team.
Responsibilities
This is a busy role with opportunities for professional development. Expect to:
* Assist with all stages of Employment Tribunal cases, from case preparation to post-judgment follow‑up.
* Draft correspondence, prepare evidence packs and manage case files.
* Communicate with clients, witnesses and external organisations.
* Maintain accurate case records and track deadlines.
* Collaborate with colleagues across the Leeds and Northern team.
Qualifications
* Previous paralegal experience, preferably in employment law (subject area not essential).
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to interact confidently with clients and external stakeholders.
* A friendly, enthusiastic and can‑do approach.
